CUPC 2008 - Paper Submission

Email Imprimer PDF
Sample Proceeding Cover (not nessisarly the end product)The AIP (The American Institute if Physics) will be publishing the proceedings of the 44th Canadian Undergraduate Physics Conference in their Conference Proceedings series. Delegates presenting a talk or poster are encouraged to submit a paper of said talk or poster for publication in the proceedings. All papers will be printed in large 8 ½ x 11in, hard cover volume, which you can purchase from the AIP, and available online (free for up to one year for registered conference participants - ala http://proceedings.aip.org/proceedings/confproceed/878.jsp).

Authors who are submitting papers should follow the AIP author guidelines: http://proceedings.aip.org/proceedings/authors.jsp and use the 8.5 x 11 inch, single-column format . Authors who are submitting papers should either do it through the Paper Submission Form, or should email them to the Proceedings Editor at Cette adresse email est protégée contre les robots des spammeurs, vous devez activer Javascript pour la voir. along with the completed Transfer of Copyright Agreement form. Any questions should be directed to the Proceedings Editor ( Cette adresse email est protégée contre les robots des spammeurs, vous devez activer Javascript pour la voir. ). Manuscripts and Copyright Agreements can be submitted up to three days following the conference (deadline is Midnight, October 23rd, 2008). The start of shipping of the volumes and the simultaneous online publication will take place 10-13 weeks after the deadline. Any author needing offprints/reprints (images/graphs/etc.) to be included must complete the Offprint Request form and submit that to the Editor by the deadline, as well. The Proceeding Editor is in charge of reviewing all of the material, but the AIP has the right to exclude any material as being unsuitable for publication based on form or content or if it is in conflict with the author instructions for ethical standards (agreed to in the Copyright agreement). This is an amazing opportunity for a publication, so hopefully many undergraduates will take advantage of it. Those interested can order the printed copy of the Proceedings for themselves (or institution) up until the Manuscript Deadline through the CUPC (the AIP gives the price as $30USD plus $6USD shipping), after the deadline, orders must be placed through the AIP at an increased price.

After publication, authors should read the web posting guidelines, if they plan to link to their article.

The URL will be: http://link.aip.org/link/?pub/vol/page, where pub is the publication code (in this case, apc for AIP Conference Proceedings), vol us the volume number (1XXX), and page is the starting page number of the article.

Example:

The HTML link is:
<A href="http://link.aip.org/link/?apl/86/051902">Edward W. Kolb, AIP Conf. Proc. 1040, 3 (2008)</A>

The Link would appear as:
Edward W. Kolb, AIP Conf. Proc. 1040, 3 (2008).

The 2008 CUPC program is currently accepting abstracts for the printed program until October 12th. Abstracts will be accepted after this time, but not included in the printed conference program. If you have already registered, but did not submit the abstract for your talk/poster (or if you need to correct the abstract you submitted), you can do so here: Paper/Abstract Submission . Papers are accepted for the published proceedings until October 23rd, at Midnight.
