The first Canadian Undergraduate Physics Conference, or CUPC, was held in 1965. The records are unclear as to which university hosted this inaugural event but it would seem that McGill University and the University of Toronto were co-hosts. No official organisation runs the CUPC. The continued success of this event is a testament to the hard-work and enthusiasm of the undergraduate students who organise it - a new group every year - their advisors and, needless to say, the financial support of sponsors and government agencies.
